Friday, July 30, 7-9pm: Featured reader is Art Walsh, reading from his new book “Bird of Paradise Lost and Other Poems.” 10 open-mic spots to follow feature. Spots are given on a first-come, first-read basis, with sign-ups starting at 6:30pm. This is an uncensored reading.

The Guerilla Photography Club has changed from meeting twice a month to only once a month, on the first Thursday of the month. Led by Dave Sartor and John Pivovarnick, this month’s meeting takes place on Thursday, August 5^th at 6pm. Bring your camera and your enthusiasm!

Thinking Woman’s Book Group, led by writer Leslee Clapp. Meeting Monday, August 16^st at 5:30pm, discussing Angela Hunt’s novel Uncharted. The plot line is a blend of the movies Castaway and The Big Chill, with a touch of the television series Lost, creatively thrown together with the biblical story of the beggar Lazarus and C.S. Lewis’s The Great Divorce.

Stephen King discussion group: Wednesday, August 18^th, 5:30pm, discussing anything and everything Stephen King.

Anthology book group: Thursday, August 19^th, 6pm, discussing Let the Great World Spin by Colum McCann.  This book was the 2009 National Book Award-winner, and an Oprah “Books You Can’t Put Down” summer reading selection.
