May 12, 2011: “Home and Place: Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater”

Fallingwater’s design is 75 years old this year.  This presentation would focus on its salient qualities as home deriving its essence from its place.

Gregory K. Hunt, FAIA, is the Founding Dean of the School of Architecture at Marywood University – the first school of architecture established in Northeastern Pennsylvania.  He was Vice Chairman and Director of Design 2003-2009 at Leo A Daly, an international planning, architecture, engineering and interior design firm.  He was an architectural educator for 25 years at Virginia Tech and The Catholic University of America, serving as Dean of the School of Architecture and Planning at CUA 1996-2003.  He was elected to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects in 2000 in recognition of his contributions and service to education and the profession. He was named the 2009 William C. Noland Medalist by the Virginia Society AIA, the highest honor bestowed upon a member.
